The role of coaches and support staff in the Indian Premier League takes a back seat as the players always take center stage. However, their efforts and guidance cannot be overlooked and denied as they devise the strategies that are put into action on the field. Let’s take a look at the fittest IPL coaches of all time.

Stephen Fleming

He was the head coach of the IPL team Chennai Super Kings last year and is the former New Zealand national cricket team captain. He took over as the head coach in the IPL in 2009 and is the most experienced on the list.

Ricky Ponting

The former Australian cricketer is one of the world’s most successful captains. He began his IPL career as the captain of the Mumbai Indians and started as a coach in 2015. In 2018 he took over the Delhi Capitals.

Tom Moody

The latter coached Sri Lanka from 2005 to 2007 and is IPL’s fourth most experienced head coach, leading two franchises, as he was the captain of Kings XI Punjab, and soon joined Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Brian Lara

He is a legend and has been named as the head coach in the IPL, as he joined the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022. The team has played well under his guidance since then.

Daniel Vettori

Former New Zealand international cricket captain was hired as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014, whereas last year he was the bowling coach for Bangladesh’s international cricket team.

Brendon McCullum

The latter assisted Kolkata Knight Riders and took the name of the team turning it into a brand in the domestic and international arena. His impressive coaching resume rewarded him with earning the team’s head coach position last year.
