While no one is perfect, some people consistently drain your energy, damage your confidence, or manipulate your emotions. This person always has something negative to say-- even when there isn't anything to complain about! Whether it’s your outfit, your personal goals, or your relationships, they find flaws in everything. While they might sugar coat their words as "constructive feedback," it usually just leaves you feeling small or insecure. True friends don't pull you down. Instead, they encourage, uplift, and help you become better as a person. If you notice your 'friend' constantly criticising you even after being asked not to, then maybe it is time to cut them off your life.

Friendship should be a two-way street. But if you constantly feel as if you are the only one who is maintaining a bond with this person, then maybe it is time for your one-sided friendship to end. Some classic signs of one-sided friends are: They expect you to be there when they need support, a ride, or someone to vent to— but when you need them, they vanish. Their needs always come first, and your problems are brushed off or ignored. Over time, you feel drained and unappreciated. This type of 'friend' secretly resents your success and finds ways to bring you down when you’re doing well. They may pretend to be your friend, but they'll mock your achievements by making passive-aggressive remarks, or even try to “outdo” you.
