After Kareena Kapoor, Neena Gupta calls out Prada over Kolhapuri chappals gifted to her by late Laxmikanth Berde; writes, "Real toh real hota hai.."

Kareena Kapoor recently called out luxury brand Prada over their latest footwear design, which was inspired by the design of traditional Kolhapuri chappals. Now, veteran actress Neena Gupta known for her role in 'Badhaai Ho,' took to Instagram to recount her personal experiences with Kolhapuri chappals.In her video, Neena Gupta can be seen proudly wearing a pair of handmade Kolhapuri slippers, gifted to her by the late actor Laxmikant Berde. The actress said, "So, these Kolhapur slippers are in great demand these days. Once I did something with Laxmikant Berde—I don't remember what it was—so I asked him, can you get me these slippers from Kolhapur? He said yes. So he got them for me. This is the most beautiful slippers I have ever had.

The video ends with Gupta walking while wearing the chappals, and she simply captions the post with, "Real toh real hota hai..". Her post comes just days after Kareena Kapoor shared a picture of her own Kolhapuri chappals, taking a subtle dig at Prada. Kareena had posted the image on her Instagram story with the caption, "Sorry not Prada…but my OG Kolhapuri."

For the unversed, the brand showcased a pair of sandals strikingly similar to Kolhapuri chappals at its Men's Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show in Milan on June 22. The sandals, labelled as 'Toe Ring Sandals', were presented without any acknowledgement of their Indian roots.On the working front, Kareena Kapoor was last seen in the 'Singham Again' starring Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff in key roles.On the other hand, Neena Gupta has recently been seen in 'Metro In Dino' released on July 4.
