Ajay Devgn's '
Raid 2
' released in theatres on May 1 and also benefitted from the Maharashtra Day holiday. The film had a good opening of about Rs 19.25 crore on day 1. It has remained steady since then, despite a slight drop on some non-holiday days which is also expected. The film is already about to cross the lifetime number of 'Raid' which had released in 2018. This sequel also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor, apart from Ajay.According to Sacnilk, the total collection of 'Raid 2' so far, including the numbers of day 6 (Tuesday), till evening, is Rs 81.77 crore. Thus, it can be expected that within one week, it is already nearing the lifetime collection of 'Raid'. According to Sacnilk, the lifetime net collection of the 2018 film in India was Rs 103.07 crore. This number was generated in the span of about 8 weeks. Thus, clearly, the second installment is surely doing much better than the first one. 'Raid' was made under a budget of Rs 35 crore and made a lifetime collection in India of Rs 103.07 crore net. Thus, it was clearly a hit.The budget of 'Raid 2' would be slightly higher, but eventually, the film may end up with a much better lifetime number. The film is doing well overall in many circuits, especially in Mumbai, according to Box Office India. There is also a strong trend in Gujarat.'Raid 2' should be able to cross the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of its week 1.
