Akshay Kumar was recently tagged as being a Modi Bhakt and the point of contention was his interview with Prime Minister Modi before the 2019 general election.

Talking about it in an interview with India Today, the actor revealed that getting a chance to interview the PM was a no-brainer, anybody would have grabbed the opportunity to interact with him. The actor also spoke about how people had issues with his interview as he asked the PM if he likes mangoes, clarifying his stand he mentioned that he wanted to know the human side of the Prime Minister.

Akshay also mentioned that he was genuinely interested in knowing why he wears a watch upside down or how much money he had in his bank and he didn’t want to ask about his policies.

also clarified that he wasn't given any directions by the Prime Minister’s office on what to ask and what not to ask, and that he had complete freedom in the interview. The actor also shared that if his questions were screened, could a question like ‘ how do you eat your mangoes?’ would have been allowed? He also stated that he didn’t even carry a paper with him for the interview.
