West Bank

on Friday, succumbing to her injuries, according to two

Dr Ward Basalat reported that the woman was shot in the head and died of her injuries after arriving at the hospital.

The victim was at a protest in Beita, a Palestinian town north of Ramallah.

fired the shot. The Israeli military has not yet commented on the shooting incident.

Dr Basalat, who treated her at the hospital, said, "I treated her for a gunshot wound to the head and that she died shortly after arrival."
Dr Fouad Naffa, the head of the hospital, also confirmed the death, saying, that she was an American citizen.
The increase in violent attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian villages in the West Bank has sparked escalating anger among Israel's Western allies, including the United States, which has responded by imposing sanctions on several individuals.
