Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had earlier raised eyebrows with his remarks about how film budgets are often drained not by production demands, but by the inflated costs associated with actor entourages and luxuries on set. The discussion has now made its way into the headlines, as actor Amit Sial shared his nuanced take on the matter in a recent interview.Amit Sial reacts to Anurag's remarkIn a conversation with Hindi Rush, Sial confirmed that such costs are indeed a part of the filmmaking reality in India. He explained that producers often knowingly choose to work with top-tier actors who come with high demands. “To expect people to suddenly change into a good actor or person and bring them down to your level just because you wrote a great script is delusional. That person must throw out 500 people like you daily from his life,” he remarked.

Amit about stars and their fameSial further elaborated on the ecosystem around celebrity actors, pointing out that with fame comes baggage—and budgeting for that is part of the job. He said that if a filmmaker wants to create a raw and realistic film, they should cast the right actors suited for it. He acknowledged rising production costs, but emphasised that if one chooses a big star to attract audiences, they must accept the high expenses that come with it, without complaining.

Importance of being pragmatic than idealisticFor Sial, the key takeaway is that producers must be pragmatic rather than idealistic. He believes there’s no point in lamenting what has become an established industry norm. “Life is very simple; there is no need to complicate it without any reason. There is a set path to your goals, and it takes money to walk every step on that path. There is no reason to complain; don’t do it if you feel something wrong is happening—no one has kept a gun to your head,” he added.

Meanwhile, Amit Sial was recently seen in 'Raid 2', which featured a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, and Rajat Kapoor.
