The UK's Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the entire country due to the approaching

Storm Babet

, anticipated to bring a month's worth of rain.
The warning has been issued for regions from Cambridge in the southeast to East Renfrewshire in Scotland, with Antrim and Down countries which are expected to have heavy rain.
Storm Babet is forecast to make landfall in the UK on Wednesday, marking the second storm of the season following Storm Agnes, which brought strong winds to Wales.
The storm's name, "Babet," was given by the Dutch weather service after a woman, according to reports.

Steven Keates, the deputy chief meteorologist at the UK Met Office, stated, "Storm Babet will bring impactful rain to many parts of the UK, but especially parts of eastern Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Northern England later this week.
Heavy and persistent rain will fall onto already saturated ground, bringing a risk of flooding. It is important to stay up to date with warnings from your local flood warning agency as well as the local authorities."

Heavy rains are expected to commence on Wednesday and persist until Saturday, with rainfall levels projected to reach 150-200mm, according to BBC.
The Met Office will provide updates to their warnings as the storm's impact unfolds.
Along with yellow alert issued by Met office, The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has also issued early alerts for central Scotland, advising residents to exercise "caution" and avoid piers, seafronts, and exposed cliffs.
