Veteran actor Atul Kulkarni recently traveled to Kashmir to stand in solidarity with the region following the devastating terror attack in
Pahalgam
. Instead of simply expressing his condolences,
Atul
took action, urging fellow Indians to visit Kashmir and show their support.
Atul took to his Instagram to share his journey from Mumbai to Srinagar, documenting his trip with pictures of empty flight seats, his boarding pass, and a sweet note from the flight crew. He captioned the images, "Mumbai to Srinagar. The crew says they were running full. We need to fill them up again. Chaliye ji, Kashmir chalein."
Atul Kulkarni expresses deep sadness over the Pahalgam attack
The actor expressed his deep sorrow over the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the tragic loss of lives. He also highlighted the impact on tourism, sharing that 90% of tourist bookings in the region had been cancelled. Atul felt compelled to take action and travel to Kashmir, stating to ANI, "What happened on the 22nd was a very tragic incident; this should not have happened. The entire country is deeply saddened."
In a heartfelt message, Atul said, "I thought, what can I actually do in real action? So I decided to come here myself. They’re trying to send a message, ‘Don’t come to Kashmir,’ but our response should be, ‘We will come. Kashmir is ours.’” Atul’s visit aimed to counter the message of fear with one of unity and support.
During his visit, Atul shared poignant images from Pahalgam, where the usually crowded tourist spot appeared eerily empty. He also posted photos of the region’s breathtaking beauty, including clear skies, flowing streams, and serene landscapes. He further shared images of local Kashmiris holding placards reading, "We condemn this attack," and proudly waving the Indian flag.
