Paresh Rawal's recent decision to exit ‘Hera Pheri 3’ has stunned fans and film enthusiasts alike, especially since he’s long been an integral part of the franchise as the iconic Baburao Ganpatrao Apte. However, this isn't the first time Paresh Rawal has walked out of an Akshay Kumar-starrer. The veteran actor had previously opted out of ‘OMG 2’, the sequel to the widely successful ‘OMG! Oh My God’ (2012), which also starred Akshay Kumar.
Why he quit ‘OMG 2’?
OMG 2 released in 2023 with Pankaj Tripathi replacing Paresh Rawal. The actor later revealed that his absence was intentional, as he wasn’t convinced by the script. Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Paresh Rawal said, “I didn’t like the script so didn’t want to be a part of it. I don’t like making a sequel just to encash on the first part like we did in the case of Hera Pheri.” His statement clearly indicated his preference for substance over commercial repetition.

Recent fallout over ‘Hera Pheri 3’
Now, Paresh Rawal’s exit from ‘Hera Pheri 3’ has sparked even more debate. The third installment of the cult comedy, which stars Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, has already seen multiple production hiccups. Reports suggest that Akshay Kumar, who now owns the rights to the film after buying them from Feroz Nadiadwala, might even consider legal action against Paresh Rawal for stepping away.“I know it came as a shock to many”In an interview with Mid-Day, Paresh Rawal addressed the controversy, saying, “I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don’t feel like a part of it.” While calling his decision final “for now,” he left a hint of uncertainty by adding, “One never knows what the future holds.”
On the other hand, Paresh Rawal’s previous outing was the film ‘Jo Tera Hai Woh Mera Hai’, which was directed by Raj Trivedi.
