Big B greets fans outside on his birthday

Amitabh Bachchan turns 81 on October 11 and the superstar's energy belies his age. The superstar's fan following holds no bounds and as he celebrated another milestone, fans gathered outside his house,

, in huge numbers with cakes and gifts for him. The actor surprised them by coming outside at the gate and greeting them. He folded his hands in gratitude and thanked them for the wishes and waved at them with a huge smile.

Bachchan was seen in a black track pant with a pink printed hoodie and a beanie cap.

As always, he didn't wear footwear while coming out to greet his fans. Recently, in his post, he had revealed why he doesn't wear shoes while meeting his fans every Sunday. He expressed, "They ask me somewhat contentiously .. ‘who goes out to meet fans bare feet’? I tell them: ‘I do .. you go to the temple bare feet .. my well wishers on Sunday are my temple’ !! ‘You got a problem with that !!!’" It's a ritual for Bachchan to greet fans every Sunday outside his house since the year 1982.

It's perhaps this humility which makes him the legend that he his. The actor continues to work each day and break the benchmark set by his own self.
