NEW DELHI: US lawmaker and Republican
Lauren Boebert
had spent her campaign fund at a restaurant owned by her date, who accompanied her to the Beetlejuice musical from where the duo were escorted out for being "disruptive and frisky", reported Politico.
According to her most recent campaign finance filings, the Colorado congresswoman's campaign put down $317.48 in late July at Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar in Aspen, Co.
That's the same bar co-owned by Quinn Gallagher, the man who accompanied
Boebert
to the theatre that fateful September night, as per Politico.
Boebert and Gallagher were reportedly caught on camera "fondling" one another amid a crowd, which included families with children.
It is alleged that Boebert was also vaping before she and her date were asked to leave.
At first, Boebert contested allegations of her disruptive behaviour, but as the incident gained widespread attention across the nation and video footage of her and her companion became public, she eventually issued an apology.
However, her affiliation with Gallagher and Hooch led to additional complications for the conservative representative from Colorado as Hooch is known for being an LGBTQ+ friendly establishment, even hosting drag shows, which Boebert had previously criticized in public statements.
According to Politico, the campaign expenditure at Hooch was listed as being for "event catering." Boebert says she and Gallagher are no longer dating because he is a Democrat.
