Bosco Martis, a renowned choreographer, has been behind some of Bollywood’s biggest viral hits, including 'Jhoome

', last year’s chartbuster 'Tauba Tauba', and the globally acclaimed 'Kala Chashma'. In a recent conversation, he highlighted how choreographers often remain unrecognized, even though they play a crucial role in creating these popular songs.Overlooked Despite ContributionsIn a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, Bosco Martis discussed how choreographers often get overlooked when hit songs are mentioned. He praised Vicky Kaushal for graciously giving him credit for the popular track 'Tauba Tauba'. However, Bosco expressed disappointment that his work on 'Chuttamalle' from Devara went viral without any acknowledgment. Reflecting on this, he said with a smile. "I wish Janhvi would have spoken about it in her promotions, but fine, it's okay.", said Bosco with a smile. He added, "If they don't realise it, I think, then they don't realise it. So, you do your work, and maybe it's a switch I don't know!"The Need for Systematic Recognition
The choreographer highlighted that recognition for their work needs to be addressed properly. He believes there should be a systematic, scientific way to ensure credit is given, rather than having to personally reach out and question why their name isn’t mentioned on radio stations or when people talk about a dance move. According to him, acknowledgment should come naturally without the need to demand it.
Advocating for a Clear ProtocolBosco emphasized the importance of creating a structured system that enables audiences to recognize the contributions of those working behind the scenes. He believes this process should be handled scientifically, with a clear protocol established to inform people about who the choreographer is, rather than relying on individuals to personally endorse or promote themselves.
