Matthew Perry's fans across the globe woke up to the shocking news of the actor's death. He was reportedly found dead in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles. He was 54.
As soon as the news of his sudden demise hit the internet, reactions and tributes poured in from all sides on social media. The actor, best known for starring as Chandler Bing in 'Friends'. Many of his friends and colleagues referenced his struggle with alcoholism and drug addiction, which he discussed publicly throughout his career, especially in his memoir 'Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.'

Selma Blair shared a throwback picture with the actor and wrote, 'My oldest boy friend.

All of us loved Matthew Perry, and I did especially. Every day,” wrote Selma Blair on Instagram. “I loved him unconditionally. And he me. And I’m broken. Broken hearted. Sweet dreams Matty. Sweet dreams.'

Meredith Salenger, who starred in “A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon” with Perry, wrote that she has known Perry since they were both 16, and shared four photos of them together. “Oh man. No words. Rest in peace sweet @MatthewPerry,” she said.






According to reports, authorities found him unresponsive around 4 p.m, and there was no signs of foul play or drugs on the scene.

Matthew Perry became globally recognized for his portrayal of Chandler, a quick-witted individual in his twenties, on the popular TV series 'Friends,' which aired for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004. He even received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2002 for his outstanding performance in this iconic sitcom. Among the six main actors of "Friends," Perry was not only dedicated as an actor but also as a producer. However, he faced a prolonged battle with substance abuse that hindered his career.

Later in life, especially with the release of his 2022 book, 'Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir,' Perry channeled a significant part of his efforts into using his personal experience to support others in their journey towards sobriety.
