Vicky Kaushal starrer to fall short of Rs 590 crore mark as it nears end of week 6

Vicky Kaushal’s period drama Chhaava continues its successful box office run, earning approximately Rs 1.40 crore on its sixth Wednesday. As the film approaches the end of its sixth week, its total collection stands just shy of the Rs 590 crore milestone.
The film opened to a stellar start, amassing Rs 219.25 crore in its first week. It maintained strong momentum into its second week, adding Rs 180.25 crore. However, collections dipped in the following weeks—Rs 84.05 crore in Week 3, Rs 55.95 crore in Week 4, and Rs 33.35 crore in Week 5.
Currently, the film’s sixth-week earnings are estimated at Rs 14.9 crore. This takes the film's overall total to an estimated Rs 587.75 crore.
This places Chhaava second on the list of the highest sixth-week box office collections in Indian cinema history. It trails behind the horror-comedy

Stree 2

, which earned Rs 18.6 crore in the same period. However, it has surpassed blockbuster hits like

Jawan

and

Pathaan

, which collected Rs 10.59 crore and Rs 8.85 crore respectively during their sixth weeks.

In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend a special screening of Chhaava at the Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament on Wednesday. The event will also host Cabinet ministers and Members of Parliament.
Last month, PM Modi praised the film during an address in New Delhi, highlighting its depiction of Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery against Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He also acknowledged the film’s connection to Shivaji Sawant’s iconic Marathi novel, which has resonated with audiences nationwide.
“It is Maharashtra and Mumbai that have elevated both Marathi and Hindi cinema. These days, Chhaava is creating a buzz across the country. The portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj’s courage in this way has been inspired by Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel,” PM Modi remarked on February 21.
Despite its impressive run, Chhaava now faces stiff competition from upcoming releases, including Salman Khan’s much-anticipated Sikandar, which is expected to impact its box-office dominance.
