Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen in 2023 after a gap of 4 years and delivered two back to back all time blockbusters in
Pathaan
and Jawan. But as Shah Rukh Khan said in Om Shanti Om, ‘Picture abhi baki hai mere dost’ and he’s not done with 2023 yet. All eyes are set on his third release of the year Dunki. And SRKhas delivered a new video which is being promoted as Drop 1, a curious bit of marketing strategy, not calling it a teaser.
Dunki marks SRK's his first collaboration withRajkumar Hirani with whom he was supposed to first do Munnabhai MBBS and then 3 Idiots and on both occasions things didn't go as planned.
Sharing the drop, SRK wrote , " A story of simple and real people trying to fulfill their dreams and desires. Of friendship, love, and being together… Of being in a relationship called Home!

ETimes was the first to report that Shah Rukh Khan plays an army officer in the film, while that part is not shown in the first drop. But the story revolves around Shah Rukh Khan and his friends played by Taapsee Pannu,
Vicky Kaushal
and Vikram Kocchar who all want to move to London but dont have the means to reach there, thus taking a backdoor entry usually called donkey flight to reach foreign shores.
The teaser or drop is also going to be attached with
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 to capture maximum audience. SRK is also doing a cameo in the film as Pathaan. The tease also ends with a promise that another teaser would also drop soon, giving more inputs about the story.
The film will be releasing in India on December 22 but it will release on December 21 across the globe. The release would have been sweeter if it would not be clashing with Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar- Part One- Ceasefire, but many trade pundits believe that both these films will elevate the true potential of Indian box office.
