Ed Sheeran plans to release five more albums before retiring from music

Ed Sheeran recently revealed that he has a plan to release

five more albums

before stepping away from the music industry. He has mapped out a total of 10 albums, with five more yet to come before he retires.
While appearing on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' he explained that his inspiration for this decision came from filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who has committed to directing only 10 films in his lifetime.
During his conversation with Fallon, Sheeran shared that he had been thinking about this idea since he was 18. He said, “When I was like 18, I had an idea for 10 albums, and it was Plus, Multiply, Divide, Subtract, Equals, and then Play, Pause, Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop. So I’ve always wanted to do 10. I’m kind of a bit obsessed with Tarantino, and I heard he was doing 10 films, and he’s got his side projects. So I’m like, I want to do my 10 and, now and then, do a side project here and there.”
Sheeran confirmed that his next album will be titled 'Play,' followed by 'Pause,' 'Fast Forward,' 'Rewind,' and 'Stop.' He emphasized that once this series is complete, he will no longer release full albums. However, he also shared that he has plans for a posthumous album, which will include songs recorded throughout his life. He described it as a collection of music that will be released after his passing.

He explained, “I kind of want to make an album for the whole of my life where you put, like, different songs on, and then it’s in your will that it comes out the day you die, and it’s called Eject. I’m not joking. I just think it’d be cool.”
Sheeran is preparing to release a new single titled Azizam on April 4. He explained that the title means "my dear" in Farsi and that he collaborated with Persian producer Ilya to create the track. Inspired by Persian culture, they even recorded a full version of the song in Farsi. Sheeran expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from the Persian community and said he has enjoyed learning from the experience.
Since 2022, Sheeran has been traveling the world as part of his Mathematics Tour. He is now set to visit several more countries, including the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, and Denmark, where he will continue to perform for fans.
His announcement about retiring after five more albums has sparked a mix of excitement and sadness among fans, as they look forward to his future music while also knowing that the end of his career is already in sight.
