During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the actor confirmed that the sequel to his much-loved film Awarapan is finally taking shape. Emraan remarked that Awarapan 2 is a film that has a massive cult following. “I always say the success of a film in theatres should not be the only yardstick to measure its impact. A perfect example of this is Awarapan. The kind of goodwill, attention, and love that the film has garnered through different mediums — satellite, torrent, internet — is huge. That’s why we felt we shouldn’t rush into making a sequel,” he shared.

‘Jannat’ Sequel
Emraan also gave fans a reason to look forward to the revival of Jannat. Sharing insights about the potential second instalment, he said, “We are working on Jannat too, but we don’t want to rush it. When we feel we have a strong script that truly picks up from where the last film left off — and we’re not just making a sequel for the sake of it — then we’ll announce it. Right now, we’re trying to make sure Jannat can return to the big screen with the impact it deserves.”

Directed by Tejas Vijay Deoskar, Ground Zero will be released on April 25.
