However, apart from being a great script-writer and lyricist, Javed continues to remain an inspiration for many for his strong opinions. He always calls a spade, a spade.

During a recent interview, Akhtar revealed something about his sonFarhan Akhtar.
During an interaction on Cyrus Says Show, Akhtar spoke about the values which he has instilled in his children - Farhan and Zoya Akhtar. There are some life lessons he has instilled in them, but, wisdom cannot simply be provided with a crash course. He further added that children are not inclined to follow what parents tell them, instead, they observe and emulate their actions. They pay attention to the moral values that parents have and what holds significance in their life. Over time, these elements naturally influence them, almost like a process of osmosis.
He added that both his children are religious atheist people. Infact, Farhan filled in 'not applicable' in the religion section of his daughters Shakya and Akira's birth certificates. The writer further said that the morality and attitudes which one observes in their surroundings can trigger one of two responses - either they are averse to it and pushed to the complete opposite or it can result in the assimilation of those values and behaviours.
