NEW DELHI: After the ICC World Cup match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Virat Kohli came to meet

on the ground and gifted him a signed Team India jersey. The gesture was lauded on social media, but didn't go down well with former Pakistan captain and bowling legend Wasim Akram.
“Everybody is showing this clip over and over again.

But after your fans are so hurt after a disappointing performance, this should be a private matter, it should not be done in an open ground,” Akram said on a Pakistan TV show.

“That’s what I exactly said when I saw the picture [getting the jersey publicly, not privately],” Akram said.

“Today was not the day to do this. If you want to do it – if your uncle’s son has asked you to get Kohli’s shirt – then do it after the game in the dressing room,” the former pacer added.

INDIA VS PAKISTAN

India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets. The win was India's eighth over Pakistan in the ODI World Cups, taking their unbeaten record against the neighbours in the 50-over showpiece event to 8-0.
India will now take on Bangladesh on October 19 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, while Pakistan will face Australia on October 20 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
