With the 2024

Paralympics Games

happening in Paris, Google is continuing its support for the

para athletes

who are participating in these games with much enthusiasm and fervor. Google updated its doodle on September 5, commemorating the Powerlifting event.
The doodle shows a chicken powerlifting what seems like a loaf of bread at the ‘Aréna Porte de La Chapelle’.

Upon that bread sits another chick eating bread. On its official Google doodles page, Google wrote, “The wait is over, the weights are on. Get ready for today’s

Para Powerlifting

event at Aréna Porte de La Chappelle!” The event which kicked off on 4th September will see athletes competing in various categories till the 8th of September.
Paralympic powerlifting, also known as para powerlifting and para-lifting is an event adapted for the athletes with disabilities. Any athlete with one or multiple of the eight eligible physical impairments, can participate in the event, as per the official paralympic website. All athletes in Para Powerlifting must have an impairment in their lower limbs or hips that meets the minimum impairment criteria for competition.
On the first day of powerlifting event, in the women’s 45 kg category, China’s L.L. Guo finished in first position and Z. Newson of Great Britain and N. Muratlı of Turkey came second and third respectively. In the men’s 49 kg category, Jordan’s O. Qarada won gold and the silver and bronze medals were won by Turkey’s A. Kayapinar and V.C. Lê of Vietnam.

wheelchair tennis
