Google Pixel 9a gets a video teardown, let's peek inside

1 day ago 44

Google announced the Pixel 9a last month, then promptly proceeded to delay its release due to an unknown issue. The phone should finally be on store shelves next week, on April 10 to be specific.

Ahead of that, YouTuber PBKreviews has somehow managed to get his hands on a unit, and take it apart in one of his now-traditional teardown videos. So if you've always wondered what's inside the Pixel 9a, now's your chance to find out. Have a look:

The phone is allocated a repairability score of 7.5 out of 10, where 10 would be the most repairable and 0 would be the least. Its internal design, parts availability, and ease of screen replacement all got top marks - 2 points out of 2 possible.

Where it fell flat was how easy it is to replace the battery, where it got 1 out of 2 points, and especially how hard replacing miscellaneous parts is, where it only got 0.5 points out of a maximum of 2.
