In a surprising turn of events, actress
Kang Hae-rim
's departed from the cast of the forthcoming K-Drama ‘
Gaslighting
' recently.
Star News reported on October 11 that the actress choose to exit the show, midway through filming it. Due to her decsion to quit, the filming of the drama was halted filming in August, after they shot for five episodes. Kang Hae-rim was originally cast to play the role of Lee Se-na, a character who is hidden behind a veil of mystery.
She reportedly quit the K-Drama during the film break and the exact reason for her leave has not been revealed.
And now, recent buzz suggests that Yeonwoo has been roped in to play the lead role. The 'Dali & Cocky Prince' actress will step into the show of Se-na, which has been left vacant by Kang Hae-rim's departure.
Yeon Woo
is a former idol from Momoland. She quit the girl group in 2019 and went on to establish a career in front of the camera. Yeonwoo has featured in numerous K-Dramas like Touch, Alice, Live On, Cheat on Me If You Can and The Golden Spoon to name a few.
‘Gaslighting', backed by MBC, also stars Kim Hee-seon and Hye-young Lee and is slated to air in the second half of the year. It is directed by Kim Seung-woo and written by Nam Ji-yeon. According to IMDB, Gaslighting narrates the story of Korea's best psychological counselor Yeong-won and her mother-in-law Sa Kang facing each other's secrets and truths due to their husband and son.
