An IOC session is a key meeting of IOC members where crucial decisions regarding the Olympic movement are taken such as hosts for Summer and Winter Games, inclusion or removal of sports etc. With Mumbai playing host, it highlights India’s ambition to host an Olympics in the future.

The 141st IOC Session will take place between 15-17 October. India had won the right to host the event in February 2022 when a delegation led by Nita Ambani, first Indian woman to elected as an IOC member, made a compelling speech at the 139th IOC session in Beijing. Mumbai received 99% of the votes to play host to the prestigious event. The delegation also included Bindra.
