After several delays,
Pippa
has been announced for an OTT release. This war drama, which is based on the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, will feature
Ishaan Khatter
in the lead role. Speaking about the film, Ishaan shared, “I'm very excited to share the film. It's taken a lot of devoted work, sweat and toil. And a great set of people have come together to make it happen.”
Pippa draws inspiration from the war narrative presented by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta in his book, The Burning Chaffees.
Ishaan plays Captain
Balram Mehta
in this action drama, co-starring
Mrunal Thakur
, Priyanshu Painyuli and
Soni Razdan
in pivotal roles.
Thrilled that it is finally ready for showcase, Ishaan shared, “It's a story we should be very proud of. It's a chapter of our history, about the liberation of Bangladesh in the 1971 war. As one country for another, we did something truly noble. I'm very proud that I had a chance to play a young acting captain and a tank commander. The defense forces have been very supportive in the making of the film,”
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, ‘Pippa’ will be release on OTT on November 10. Speaking about the project, the director had shared, “When I read Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta’s book The Burning Chaffees, I was absolutely certain that this inspiring and lesser-known story of triumph, needed to be shared with the world. I believe we have been able to create an apt tribute to our armed forces, by bringing to life this story that is hidden in the annals of our rich history.
