John Abraham says, ‘The Diplomat’ deserves a national award win

“Vicky Donor won National Awards and so did Madras Café. I think The Diplomat deserves to be there too along with other films. Hopefully, there will be a lot of other films (of mine) that too will win this honour,” said John Abraham in an interaction with News18.
He emphasised that the movie deserves to be in the list for National Award. “We should go there,” he highlighted.
The actor strongly feels that the movie deserves a lot of adulation. “It’s a very credible film, and it’s a film for India," John said.

Further, John Abraham believes, ‘The Diplomat’ has helped the audience see him in a new light. He spoke about how the movie has helped him get recognition once again. He mentioned people are taking notice of him now, saying, ‘This guy has done well and can offer us a lot more than what we thought he could.’
Acknowledging that he did a decent job in his other movies like ‘Madras Café’ and ‘Parmanu,’ he added, “The Diplomat has been a quantum leap for me as an actor.”
With his breaking the macho image, now people see him for his versatility. He said, “People look at me as a Dostana or a Jim way. At the same time, they look at me in a Madras Café or a The Diplomat way. What I’ve done as an actor is offered a buffet to my directors and have asked them to choose from them, stating that I’m available for everything."
