has been embroiled in a controversy involving an ongoing

substance abuse case

, which is being investigated by the

Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station

. On Saturday, the ‘Parasite’ actor was spotted for the first time amid this controversy. He arrived at the

police station

reportedly for the first round of interrogation in the case.
The actor addressed the reporters waiting outside the police station and apologised to his fans.

Koreaboo quoted Lee Sun Kyun as, “First of all, I sincerely apologize for the great amount of disappointment I have brought to so many people for being involved in such an unpleasant incident. I would like to bow my head in apology to everyone who has trusted me and supported me all this time. As I delivered through my agency, my position is that I will faithfully participate in the investigation with an honest attitude. I feel very sorry for my family, who is suffering a lot at the moment. I will sincerely and truthfully answer [the questions] during the investigation”
According to the report, Lee Sun Kyun will have to undergo tests to determine his use of narcotics and to identify the drugs he used. Koreaboo stated that Lee Sun Kyun has been allegedly accused of administering drugs, since the beginning of 2023 at the residence of “A”, who is said to be a 29-year-old female. The actor’s phone has also been reportedly taken by the cops for extensive digital forensic research.
Reacting to the allegations, Lee Sun Kyun's agency had issued an official statement, which read, "Firstly, we'd like to apologize for the concern caused by the report about actor Lee Sun Kyun, a labelmate of our company. We're confirming the exact facts of the allegations currently being raised against actor Lee Sun Kyun, and we'll sincerely engage in investigations by the investigative agencies that may proceed in the future. Actor Lee Sun Kyun received constant blackmail and threats from 'A,' a person related to the case, and we've submitted a complaint to investigators."
