Actor
Lior Raz
, best known for his work in the popular series '
Fauda
', volunteered to with the '
Brothers in Arms
', to help in ongoing efforts to help extract families from affected areas as the war between Israel and Hamas rages on.
Raz, who has previously worked with the
Israel Defence Forces
(IDF) before his acting stint in 'Fauda', took to his Instagram handle to share a chilling video documenting his experience on the front lines.
The clip sees him taking shelter with Yohanan Plesner, the president of the Israel Democracy Institute, and a few others as they made their way to the southern Israeli town of Sderot, which was affected during the strikes.
While there, the actor filmed a rocket flying overhead and exploading at a distance from where he and a few others were taking shelter.
"Accompanied by Yohanan Plesner @yplesner and Avi @issacharoff, I headed down south to join hundreds of brave 'brothers in arms' volunteers who worked tirelessly to assist the population in the south of Israel. We were sent to the bombarded town of Sderot to extract two families," he captioned the video.
In the wake of the attacks, Raz condemned the violence in a social media post that read, "Our country was attacked by a cruel enemy who murdered children, women, and men in cold blood in their beds... This is not a victory. It is darkness fighting light."
In a separate post, Raz appealed to the global community to remember the ongoing conflict, even as it evolves. He wrote, "Remember that we go into this war with a heavy heart, with no desire to kill innocents, and with no choice in the face of those who come against us."
