Reports have been circulating on social media suggesting that the film might not be released in theatres on October 2, 2025.

The makers addressed the rumours directly on Thursday (May 22) via their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating: "We’re right on track, and everything is progressing as planned. #KantaraChapter1 will release in theatres worldwide on October 2, 2025. Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait.
We kindly urge everyone to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing unverified updates.” Kantara 2 previously made headlines following the accidental drowning of junior artist MF Kapil. The production house had issued a statement asserting that no filming was in progress at the time of the incident.“No filming was scheduled on that day, and the unfortunate event occurred during his personal engagement, outside the scope of any film-related activity,” the statement read.
Prior to this, a vehicle carrying junior artists overturned on set. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
