Manoj Kumar passed away on April 4, 2025, leaving the entire nation mourning the loss of a true legend. Several members of the film fraternity have paid emotional tributes to the iconic star. Actress Mandakini, in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, described his passing as a “big loss” and extended her heartfelt condolences to his family.
In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, actress Mandakini shared that she never had the opportunity to meet Manoj Kumar in person. “Unfortunately, I never met him,” she said, adding that while she did work in a film with his brother, their paths never crossed. “I never got a chance to see him or anything like that,” she added.
Expressing her admiration for the legendary actor, Mandakini said it was a sad moment. She described Manoj Kumar as a very good actor whom she had always admired. “I watched all his movies. One of the finest actors, I should say,” she added.

A big loss
Extending her condolences, 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili' actress Mandakini reflected on the loss, saying it was indeed a big one. She mentioned having worked with Manoj Kumar’s son and offered prayers for the family, hoping his soul rests in peace and that they find the strength to cope with their grief.
The actress added, “One era is gone. All his friends, people from his time like Raaj Kumar is no more, Raj Kapoor is no more, Shashi Kapoor is no more, and Sunil Dutt sahab is no more. I think he was the only one left from that time.”
Tribute to the actor
Earlier, actress Aruna Irani spoke exclusively to Pinkvilla, recalling her time working with Manoj Kumar. She praised him as a “very good actor, very good director, very good producer,” adding that working with him was a wonderful experience.

According to ANI, Manoj Kumar passed away at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The veteran actor reportedly suffered a severe heart attack.
