'Media speculated about Salman Khan's girlfriends, he never spoke about them publicly; Aamir Khan kept his marriage a secret,' says Sheeba about the conservative time in the 90s

During the 90s, actors always maintained a very private life and there was specially a stigma around them regarding their relationships. Stars were told to keep their relationship or marriage a secret, or else it would narrow down their popularity amongst the audience.

In a recent interview, actress Sheeba Akashdeep Sabir has opened up on it. She revealed that those times were really different from how things are today. When asked about actors keeping their marriage a secret, Sheeba said during a chat with Filmymantra, "Fans were idolsing the heroes and heroines and were imagining getting married to them. It was a different time. Romance bhi chori chupe hote the. Aaj ke jaise nahi ke haath pakadke ghoom rahe hai.

(Actors used to keep their romances hidden, not like today when they hold hands and roam around in public)."She added, "Aamir for the longest time never said he was married. Dono ke liye laagu tha. Aisa nahi ke khali heroines ke liye tha. (This was an unsaid rule for both actors and actresses.)"When the host further asked that people knew about Salman Khan and his girlfriends, giving the example of Sangeeta Bijlani who would often visit the actor on the set.

Responding to it, Sheeba said, "She would come on set but not in front of the media. The media was speculating. But did you ever see him tell the media that he was dating someone or introducing his girlfriend to the media? People would talk about it but he never spoke about it publicly."She further laughed and said, "Till today, he remains a big brand because he's still single." Sheeba also added that Shah Rukh Khan was an exception as he was already married when he joined the industry and didn't keep it a secret.

"He made his own rules," she said.In the same chat, she was asked if it was true that during those times, actresses had wine in a steel glass just so that they didn't want to spoil their image. When asked about such things in the 90s, she said, "I worked with Sunil Dutt in my debut film and we were taught that actors are public figures and people idolise them. Hence they should be careful about doing the right thing and always setting a good example. Nothing wrong in it.

It's a good thing."She further added, "Not just actresses but actors also had wine in steel glasses. That's perhaps because they were drinking at the wrong time."Sheeba was recently seen in 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'.
