Akshay Kumar’s latest release,
Mission Raniganj
, is facing a tough time at the box office. On its sixth day, the film witnessed a further drop in collection.
The film opened with Rs 2.8 crore and went on to earn Rs 4.8 crore on day two and Rs 5 crore on day three. However, since then, Mission Raniganj has been witnessing a drop in collection, earning Rs 1.50 crore each on day four and day five.
On Wednesday, the movie added Rs 1.3 crore to its total, which now stands at Rs 17 crore, reports Sacnilk. This Akshay Kumar starrer had around 9.68 per cent Hindi occupancy on Wednesday.
Reacting to the box office response of the movie, Akshay had told ANI, "I saw the film I have done so many films, this film won't be a commercial success but I can easily tell you it is the best film of my career. Ye meri sabse behtareen, sabse imaandaar, sabse sachchi aur sabse achi film hai (This is my best, most honest and truthful film). What matters to me is that I have made an honest film."
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, Mission Raniganj is based on a real life rescue story of Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission in November 1989.
This film also stars Parineeti Chopram Kumud Mishra and
Pavan Malhotra
in pivotal roles.
Speaking about working with new directors despite being a senior, Akshay Kumar added, "I have worked with 23-24 new directors in my career. Put a hand on their shoulder and they are fine, you've to be their friend, you cannot be a senior actor. At the same time, you have to maintain that respect for you also you've to give them the honour of being the director. You just have to allow them to breathe."
Post Mission Raniganj, Akshay Kumar will be seen in Soorarai Pottru remake, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sky Force, Welcome Back and Hera Pheri 3. He will also be seen playing a cameo in Rohit Shetty helmed
