Over 500 runners wearing inflatable Tyrannosaurus rex costumes fought harsh windy conditions for a
charity fun run
on
Douglas Promenade
on Saturday. The event was organised by
Expedition Limitless
and supported by Manx Mencap, a charity for learning disabilities, as per BBC News.
Participants completed a 1.5-mile (2.5km) course, setting what is claimed to be an unofficial
world record
for the
largest T rex race
ever.
The run raised £12,000, pushing Expedition Limitless's total
fundraising
to over £120,000, including their recent kayaking trip in Canada.
Team leader of Expedition Limitless,
Martyn Malone
, described the event as "absolutely incredible," showcasing both the enjoyment of the event and its significant impact on the charity.
