Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee has once again spoken out about a distasteful remark made by the late superstar Rajesh Khanna, recalling how she had to shut down the actor with a bold response during the shoot of their film Prem Bandhan. The comment in question related to her pregnancy at the time, when Khanna allegedly questioned the paternity of her unborn child, asking if it was her husband Jayanta Mukherjee’s or actor Vinod Mehra’s.In an interview with Nayandeep Rakshith, Moushumi shared that people often underestimated her resilience. “People used to get angry because I was never bothered so much. They used to be like, chalo time mila toh isko cheddte hain, so I used to give it back,” she said.‘He thought it was fun, but I gave it back’She added, “He thought that is fun. A lot of people who pass nasty remarks don’t realise that they are actually showing what they are.

“Yes, I gave him back. I asked him, ‘Is it Rishi Kapoor’s child or yours?’” The remark, aimed at silencing the superstar, reportedly left him speechless.

Despite the tension, Moushumi maintained a professional relationship with Khanna and continued working with him. “I did movies with him after that as well. It was never awkward between me and him. Raat gayi, baat gayi. He also distanced himself, thinking she wasn’t an easy nut to crack,” she recalled.

Rajesh Khanna and Moushumi Chatterjee shared screen space in multiple films, including Prem Bandhan, Anuraag, Humshakal, Ghar Parivaar, and Vijay. Their on-screen chemistry was often appreciated.
