Nushrratt Bharuccha was in Israel for an event where her recent release, 'Akelli,' was screened for the first time.
Interestingly, the movie's theme revolves around a woman stranded in a conflict-ridden area far from her home. At the event, Nushrratt, along with her co-stars Tsahi Halevi and Amir Boutrous, sang the iconic song 'Tere Jaisa Yaar Kahaan' from the Amitabh Bachchan and Amjad Khan starrer 'Yaarana.' The heartfelt video of their performance has gone viral and takes on added significance in light of the ongoing crisis in the region. Nushrratt not only sang a song at the event but also posed with the colleagues from the film fraternity at the global level.
According to reports, the actor's team had lost contact with her after a surprise attack by Hamas militants from Gaza Strip at daybreak killed at least 22 Israelis on Saturday even as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared "war" and said his country would extract an "unprecedented price" from its enemy.
Nushrratt arrived back in India on Sunday afternoon after experiencing a period of being stranded in Israel due to the attack by Hamas militants. She appeared tired and wore casual attire as she disembarked from her flight at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport around 2.30 pm.
