Pakistan team hit by fever in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: For the first time since touching down in Bengaluru, the

Pakistan team

hit the nets on Tuesday evening, albeit with an air of illness surrounding them.
Following a heavy seven-wicket defeat against India in Ahmedabad on Saturday,

Babar Azam

and his men arrived in the city the following day.
The former champions suffered a jolt with a few players down with fever on arrival, which resulted in the cancellation of practice on Monday. Barring a team dinner at a poolside restaurant in a premium city hotel, the players spent the last couple of days mostly in their hotel rooms.

is said to be on the mend.

"Some players got fever in the past few days and most of them have fully recovered. Those who are recovering remain under the team medical panel's observation," stated the Pakistan team media manager.
Initially, on Tuesday, Pakistan's training schedule under lights was called off before the team opted for an optional session with 12 players in attendance.

"Not all of them are unwell, some of them decided to rest since it was an optional training session," clarified the media manager.
