The 26th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will see South Africa take on Pakistan in a key match for both sides. This match will take place on Friday, 27 October, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, come into this match after a shocking loss to Afghanistan in Chennai, where the spinners found favorable conditions. On the other hand, Aiden Markram’s South African squad is riding high after a resounding victory over Bangladesh at the batter-friendly Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

No rain is expected in Chennai on match day. We can, however, expect a humid day with occasional periods of both clouds and sunshine. The temperature during the match will reach 32°C around noon but is likely to decrease to 29°C as the match progresses.
The humidity will be between 70 and 80 per cent right throughout the match and will test the fitness of the players.
Pakistan vs South Africa: Chennai pitch report
The pitches at Chepauk are traditionally recognised for being spin friendly. However, among the four matches held in the tournament, only two innings witnessed teams scoring less than 200.
Given the clay and red soil composition of the pitches at Chepauk, spin will certainly play a significant role in this PAK vs SA match. Also, the seam bowlers will find assistance under lights with the new ball.
