Actress Prajakta Koli married her long-time boyfriend, Vrishank Khanal, on February 25, 2025, and their wedding went viral online for the enduring love they share. In a recent interview, Prajakta shared an unmissable story about how she fell in love with Vrishank 13 years ago.
In a recent podcast episode with Abhay Deol for Durex India, Prajakta was asked about her love life and recent marriage to Vrishank. The actress shared how a three-day internet chat, without meeting each other, eventually led to their marriage.
Prajakta was 18 and Vrishank was 22 when they first met. She recounted that she first saw Vrishank at a friend’s place, but he had noticed her before she noticed him. He specifically observed that she was holding a BlackBerry, which was a popular phone at the time. She recalled asking her father for one, as all her friends had BlackBerrys, and she was using his phone when they met.
“Vrishank saw it and reached out to my friend, asking, ‘I saw that she has a BlackBerry. Can you get me her BBM?’ He added me on BBM, and we talked for three days straight. I had never seen the guy,” she began narrating.
She humorously called it a "sliding into your DMs – 2011 edition." Abhay pointed out that Vrishank must have been very charming to win her over with such a move. “He was a very smooth talker—really good at it,” she responded.
They were texting each other without meeting, and he would play the guitar and sing songs for her. “At that time, he still played the guitar, and he would send me voice clips of songs, saying, ‘This is for you.’ He would do covers of songs we both liked. This all happened in just three days, which isn’t a long time. After three days, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said, ‘Sure,’” she stated.
Prajakta admitted that she had never met him before and initially joked that he could be dangerous based on his photos. However, since he was just an acquaintance of a friend, she thought that, at worst, he might not be interesting—though he did seem charming.
“I said, ‘Okay, I'll be your girlfriend.’ Then I thought, ‘Shouldn’t we meet now that you’re my boyfriend and I’m your girlfriend?’ There was no dating or anything like that. The next day, I met him, and all my friends were like, ‘What is wrong with you?’” she added.
Abhay then asked what she would have done if she had not found him physically attractive.
“Oh no, I didn’t think of that at all. But when I saw him, I thought, ‘Nice.’ Lucky me! Very lucky! At that time, none of us thought it would turn into what it has become. I didn’t think much of it; I was just getting to know someone. I thought, ‘Yeah, sure, why not?’ And now I’m married to him,” she concluded.
Both Abhay and actor Adarsh Gourav, who was also present in the podcast, called the story "insane."
