The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has accused six British diplomats of spying and "subversive activities". As a result, the decision has been made to withdraw their accreditation, effectively expelling them from
Russia
, as reported by Russian state television, which cited an FSB official.
According to the FSB, evidence was obtained suggesting that the diplomats were dispatched to Russia by a specific division of the UK Foreign Office, which the FSB claims is primarily tasked with inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia.
The security service further alleged that these individuals were involved in "intelligence-gathering and subversive activities" while in the country.
This development comes on the heels of a joint announcement by the United States and Britain, pledging an additional $1.5 billion in aid to Ukraine.
Concurrently, Ukrainian officials have renewed their calls for permission to use Western-supplied missiles to strike targets located deeper within Russian territory.
