When
Yoo Jae-seok
spoke about viral posts on Shin Hye-sun’s drinking ability, wherein netizens, apparently working at a convenient stores and restaurants, claimed that they witnessed the actress down 20 bottles of Chamisul
soju
with two other friends and drink 50 cups of High-Ball on her own.
Clarifying on the same, the star of 'Mr. Queen' explained, “I can’t drink Chamisul well. I do like High-Ball. However, about the Chamisul myth, it was actually a rotation rather than a small number of people drinking that much. I think he misunderstood our amount of soju because there were a few people that came and left and others came.” When Jo Se-ho further quizzed the actress, "How much can you really drink?” Shin Hye-sun confessed, “There were many people who asked me how much I can drink, so I measured it. I drink distilled liquor. One or two bottles of that. I’m very drunk. Once I drink, I am sick for a few days. I’m not a person who drinks and decomposes it well.”
Addressing the fabled drinking prowess, Shin Hye-sun clarified, "Chamisul and I don't exactly have a harmonious relationship. My preference leans more towards High-Ball. But let's talk about the Chamisul myth—it was more of a revolving door scenario than a small group consuming that much. I think there was some confusion regarding the volume of soju consumed due to people coming and going."
Curiosity piqued, Jo Se-ho couldn't resist asking, "How much can you really handle?" With an air of candidness, Shin Hye-sun replied, "Given the numerous inquiries about my drinking capacity, I decided to put it to the test. I'm more of a hard liquor enthusiast, and I can manage one or two bottles of that."
Shin Hye-sun playfully concluded, "Now, don't get me wrong—I do enjoy a good drink, but it tends to hit me hard. After a night of indulging, I'm out of commission for a few days. I'm not one of those people who can bounce back easily after a night of revelry." This revelation added an endearing twist to her larger-than-life persona, further solidifying her place in our hearts as the charming "Manager Shin."
