" concert in Kolkata, originally scheduled for September 14, 2024. The decision comes in the wake of the recent brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, which has sparked outrage and protests across the country.
She issued a heartfelt statement on her social media wherein she expressed her deep sorrow and solidarity with the victim, saying, "I am deeply affected by the gruesome and heinous incident that recently took place in Kolkata.

Being a woman myself, the very thought of the sheer brutality that she must have gone through is unthinkable and sends shivers down my spine."
The concert, which was expected to be a grand affair will now be rescheduled to a later date in October 2024. Ghoshal emphasized the importance of taking a stand and joining the protests in solidarity, stating, "This concert was highly anticipated by all of us, but it is absolutely imperative for me to take a stand and join you all in solidarity."
The singer also expressed her sincere prayers for the respect and safety of women, not just in India but across the world. She urged her fans and supporters to stand united against the "demons of humankind" responsible for such heinous acts.

The concert organizers have assured that they will soon announce the rescheduled date in October.
