Siddhant on being called 'arrogant' for struggle remark

Siddhant Chaturvedi is known for his no-nonsense approach and candidness. While promoting his upcoming film Yudhra, the actor revisited his viral comment about his Gehraiyaan co-star Ananya Panday. He clarified that his words stemmed from confidence, not arrogance, and that he was simply expressing what he believed to be true.
Siddhant addressed the backlash from his statement at the Actors Roundtable, clarifying that what some perceived as arrogance was actually confidence.

He explained to India Today that surviving in the industry requires standing up for oneself. While his assertiveness might seem overconfident to some, it's the driving force behind his success.

Chaturvedi’s recent remark, which was parodied on Ananya's show Call Me Bae, has sparked further discussion. He feels that not speaking up about his self-worth might lead to perceptions of him lacking self-value. Despite his humble background and gratitude for the support he’s received, Siddhant believes it’s crucial to express his true feelings.

In the same interview, Siddhant Chaturvedi addressed the growing influence of PR in the industry. He noted that even if an actor delivers a standout performance, they can be overshadowed by someone else's PR strategies. "The perception game is damaging Bollywood," he said, "There's no real substance left, and it's all manipulated through PR and frequent appearances."
On the work front, Siddhant Chaturvedi will next star in Yudhra, directed by Ravi Udyawar. The action thriller, featuring Malavika Mohanan, Raghav Juyal, and others, is written by Shridhar Raghavan with dialogues by Farhan Akhtar and Akshat Ghildial. Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, it hits theaters on September 20, 2024.
