The Trump Mobile T1 Phone is not made in America, specs quietly changed

In a revelation that shouldn’t surprise anyone, it is now clear that the Trump Mobile T1 Phone will not be made in America. We do find it a little bit surprising that it’s not even the same phone... wait, what?

First things first, the official page for the phone used to proclaim that it is “proudly designed and built in the United States”. It no longer says that. The phone is now described as being “Designed with American values in mind” and as having an “American-Proud Design”.

However, the place of its origin is vague to put it mildly: “The T1 Phone isn’t just powerful—it’s brought to life right here in the USA. With American hands behind every device, we bring care, precision, and trusted quality to every detail.”

Not to throw any shade, but this has strong “Designed in California” vibes, which is what Apple used to write on the backs of iPhones – even though not a single iPhone was ever built in California or any other US state. Appearances matter.

Anyway, we didn’t expect any different. But the Trump Mobile T1 Phone seems to have shrunk while we weren’t looking – it was originally announced as having a 6.78” AMOLED display. Now the official specs claim a 6.25” display. Also, the RAM capacity has been deleted. The battery is the same (5,000mAh, 20W charging) and the price is the same ($500).

Presumably, Trump Mobile switched to a different ODM as the shipping date slipped back – the original rollout was planned for August or September, now the page just says “later this year”.
