Trump looks back at his relationship with Elon Musk, says he's a friend who 'got a little bit strange'

Trump calls Elon Musk a 'friend' who became a little strange.

Donald Trump Thursday buried the hatchet with Elon Musk and called him a 'friend' who got a little bit strange. The strange parts where Elon Musk called for Trump's impeachment and accused him of being associated with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have now been deleted and an apology came from Elon Musk.

Trump, it seems, is ready to forget the episode and forgive Musk. Trump also took a journey down memory lane about his relationship with Elon days after saying that he was not even thinking about him. He even said he likes Tesla, while soon after their public fallout, White House sources claimed that Trump would not keep the Tesla he purchased from Elon. As the stance softened, it was claimed that Trump would not sell the Tesla but would use it on other purposes.

And now Trump says he likes Tesla.

The president said that he was very clear from day one that he was going to abolish the EV mandate. "And Elon still endorsed me. Honestly, he never ever spoke to me about that. And I used to say, ‘I’m amazed that he’s endorsing me because that can’t be good for him'," Trump said. “And I once asked him about it… He said, ‘Well, so long as it’s happening to everybody, I’ll be able to compete.’ It was a very interesting answer.

I thought it was a very honest answer," Trump said. “I actually asked him, because it was like really strange that I’m with him, a friend of mine, and he makes electric cars and we’re saying… you’re not going to be forced to make all of those cars,” Trump said adding that Musk never tried to change his mind on this. “I actually asked him, because it was like really strange that I’m with him, a friend of mine, and he makes electric cars and we’re saying… you’re not going to be forced to make all of those cars,” Trump said.“He said, ‘As long as I’m on the same plane as everybody else, we’re going to do good, we make a better product.’ I said, ‘That’s very cool.’“After that, he got a little bit strange — I don’t know why — over much smaller things than that.” The smaller thing was the budget that Musk strongly opposed in strongly worded posts and resulted into a full-blown war.
