Dr. Al Dhaheri explained that devotion is rooted in purity of intention and integrity of action, describing its highest form as devotion to God. He said this strengthens spiritual closeness and paves the way for divine acceptance. He also highlighted devotion to one’s nation as one of the noblest expressions of faith, protecting the country’s reputation, laws, heritage, and prosperity. Dr. Al Dhaheri stressed that this principle extends to family and community life, building a cohesive and compassionate society. He concluded the sermon by encouraging worshippers to make Eid a celebration of devotion to faith, to the nation, and to one another.

Devotion, he said, brings acceptance in worship, loyalty to country, care within families, and excellence in work. Following the prayer, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan greeted worshippers and joined accompanying sheikhs in reciting Surah Al-Fatihah for the soul of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, praying for God’s mercy and that he be granted a place in Paradise.
