In a video shared on social media by BCCI, Suryakumar Yadav could be seen pretending to be a video journalist on Marine Drive. He is dressed in a full shirt and a mask and conducted public interviews outside the team hotel. Ravindra Jadeja playfully challenged passersby to identify him – all this resulted in a wholesome, hilarious interaction. Many people strolling near Marine Drive couldn’t recognise Suryakumar Yadav until he revealed his true identity by removing his mask.

The Indian Cricket Team shared the video on Instagram with the caption: “Presenting Suryakumar Yadav in a never seen before avatar. What’s our Mr. 360 doing on the streets of Marine Drive.”

At the World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav had initially been on the bench for India’s first four matches. He made his World Cup debut against New Zealand but was unfortunately run out for just two runs after a misunderstanding with Virat Kohli.

However, he showed his worth in the match against England where he played a crucial knock of 49 runs on a difficult pitch. This innings helped India post a challenging total after which the Indian seamers stepped up and blasted England out to give the hosts a comprehensive 100-run win.

India will take on Sri Lanka in their upcoming match – a match that will be reminiscent of the 2011 World Cup final. The hosts will look to extend their winning streak to seven matches and maintain top spot in the points table.

These sides had recently met in the 2023 Asia Cup final, where India emerged victorious with a dominant 10-wicket win. In the ODI World Cups, India and Sri Lanka last locked horns in the 2019 edition where centuries by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul saw them clinch a dominant seven-wicket victory at Leeds.
