Ridhi
Dogra has amassed a lot of love for her role as
Kaveri
Amma in Atlee's Jawan, where she played Shah Rukh Khan's adoptive mother. The actor, who is much younger than her on-screen character, had earlier said that she was ready to be trolled for her role and even Atlee warned her that it might happen, but contrary to that, she was inundated with love from all quarters.
The actor recently opened up on how it was meeting the King Khan in person and what was the first thing he told her. Speaking to Hauterrfly, Ridhi said that she was very shy to talk to him on the set, because she has grown up loving him. But, he was very kind. She also added that the first time they met, he told her, "Main amma nahi bulaunga tumhe (I won’t call you amma)"
Recently, Ridhi said that she is overwhelmed to hear positive responses to her character in the movie.
When Gauri Khan wanted Shah Rukh Khan's films to flop: 'For me it was like nothing should run'
She also said that her biggest compliment was from SRK himself during the movie promotions. Sharing her excitement, Ridhi opened up that people are showering her with praises and telling that her time has finally come and these are all the results of her hard work. Ridhi is determined to make the most out of all the positive responses she is getting for her role in 'Jawan'.
She further said that during that period she was deeply engrossed in several web series where she portrayed significant characters. It was during this phase that she received an offer for the character of Kaveri. As a devoted student of cinema, the news that Atlee expressed interest in meeting her, held great significance. Although the crew had already commenced filming, Atlee summoned her to the set, with SRK actively engaged in his scenes.
Ridhi further said that the fact that a director of Atlee's stature spared time to meet her, weighed heavily on her decision to take up the role of Kaveri.
Although admitting that taking up Kaveri's role in 'Jawan' was a huge risk, Ridhi concluded by saying that the director Atlee presented the character well on-screen.
Meanwhile, SRK's 'Jawan' has marked the second blockbuster of this year from King Khan, and is now running successfully in theatres.
