Several users from their X account shared image of the SUV driver.

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim condemned the attack, confirming there were "a number of fatalities" and multiple injuries. Our thoughts are with all those affected and with Vancouver’s Filipino community during this incredibly difficult time," he said.
City Councillor Rebecca Bligh also confirmed the incident, stating that the SUV drove into the crowd, resulting in multiple deaths. "Horrific tragedy at Vancouver’s Lapu Lapu Festival: a driver of an SUV has driven into crowds, leaving multiple dead. Our city is in shock," Bligh wrote on X.
