When Alia was 'very jealous' of Pooja Bhatt

takes immense pride in his three daughters: Pooja, Alia, and Shaheen Bhatt. Despite a 12-year age gap between Pooja and Alia Bhatt, they share a strong and close bond.
In an interview with Karan Thapar, Pooja was asked about her bond with her director father. Spilling some beans on the same, she said that her bond with her dad is way more special than that of Alia's with him.

The actress stated that she has had the privilege of knowing him in a manner that Alia, Shaheen, and Rahul Bhatt never did. Because she knew him through a difficult phase—she saw him grapple with alcohol, she saw him give it up. And for her, that’s his greatest achievement. According to her, she has an edge over her siblings, not because she has worked with him, but she has seen him through the depths of despair, and she has seen him rise.

In the same interview, Pooja was also asked about the infamous letters that her father, Mahesh Bhatt wrote to her when he was just 21 years old. Talking about the same, Pooja shared that those letters were written five hours after she was born and also asked Alia if she was jealous of that.

Alia Bhatt responded to Pooja's teasing in a good-humored manner and openly admitted that she felt 'very jealous' of the special treatment their father, Mahesh Bhatt, had given to his first child.

Pooja revealed that her father had written those letters after having a few beers. She also shared some heartfelt messages that her father had written for her in those letters. She mentioned that she was born during a period when her father was facing significant challenges in his life.

Alia, on the other hand, revealed that she shares a similar bond with her mother

. According to her, throughout her childhood, her mom was beside her as her father was busy with his filmmaking. Alia also added that she is extremely protective of her mother and wants to give her all the possible things in this world.
