became legendary, yet they never reunited on screen after that. Recently, an old statement from Jaya Bachchan resurfaced, sparking buzz about her thoughts on Amitabh Bachchan collaborating with Rekha again.
In a 2008 interview with People magazine, Jaya addressed the possibility of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha working together again.

She expressed that while she wouldn’t mind it, she believed the collaboration would generate more sensationalism than genuine cinematic value. She lamented that such a reunion might overshadow the opportunity to appreciate their work together.

Amitabh and Rekha, known for their on-screen chemistry, starred in several iconic films such as Namak Haraam, Do Anjane, Khoon Pasina, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Mr. Natwarlal, and Suhaag. Their most memorable film, Silsila, also featured Jaya Bachchan. Despite their successful collaborations, they haven’t worked together since, largely due to their rumored off-screen relationship, which attracted significant media attention. Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, who have been married since June 3, 1973, are celebrating 51 years together and have two children, Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan.

Amitabh recently captivated audiences with his role as Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. The film, featuring Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan, achieved blockbuster success, surpassing Rs 1000 crore at the box office and setting multiple records. While Jaya Bachchan has transitioned from films to politics, Rekha has been out of the movie scene but remains a regular at Bollywood parties and award shows.
